Amped is a start-up company specialized in developing software solutions for image and video processing, with particular regard to forensic, investigative and security applications.

Amped mission is to create software driven by the most advanced research but at the same easily usable by the final users in their everyday real work. This is achieved through the strong collaboration with universities, mainly the University of Trieste, and the scientific community. At the same time, an intense dialog is carried on with many professional operators in the field of scientific investigation and forensic services on an international level.

Amped is the first start-up born thanks to Innovation Factory, the first mile incubator of Area Science Park, the main scientific and technological campus in Italy, located in the beautiful Karst scenery, between the woods and the sea. The business idea was born during a collaboration between the Image Processing Laboratory of the University of Trieste and the Carabinieri of RIS of Parma, the Italian specialists of scientific investigations.

Amped has been awarded at the Tech Garage business competition, held during the trade-show SMAU 2008, as the best Italian start-up.
