A picture is worth a thousand words, so here we show you some examples to prove how Five has been successfully applied to various cases.
Image Samples
The following slides shows some real world examples of Five filters applied to single images in different situations, from the deblurring of moving cars, to contrast enhancement, to perspective correction or fingerprint analysis. Please click on the thumbnails of the images on the bottom or wait for the slide show to go on.
The following samples shows how Five has been applied in different steps to process some videos affected by very common issues.
Video Stabilization
This sample show how a shaking video has been stabilized very effectively, allowing to better follow the subject movements. Here there are only two steps:
the original video;
the stabilized video.

License plate extraction from an extremely dark video
This sample really shows the power of Amped Five in full effect. Here we have an extremely dark video, but thanks to the contribution of different frames we create a single image of better quality where, almost magically, the license plate become readable. These are the steps:
original video: totally dark, almost nothing is visible;
result of intensity curves adjustment: we can see that something is moving now;
stabilization: we keep the area of the license plate fixed;
integration: the result of merging the various stabilized and brightened frames, you can read it now!

License plate extraction by merging different perspectives
This sample shows a feature unique to Amped Five, the possibility to align and merge frames with different perspectives. The steps are similar to the previous sample, except for the substitution of the stabilization with the perspective alignment:
original video;
selection of some frames of interest;
perspective alignment: now the license plate area matches in all the frames;
intensity enhancement: you can see something but it is very grainy and noisy;
result of integration of different frames: you can read the license plate.

Deinterlacing a multiplexed video
This sample shows a common case coming from surveillance systems: an interlaced and multiplexed video. The different frames are interlaced because they come from an analog system, and they are also multiplexed because on different frames signals coming from different cameras are put together. These are the steps:
the original video;
the result of field separation: every deinterlaced frame is high the half of the interlaced ones, but their number is doubled;
the result of field interpolation: calculating missing lines we reconstruct frame original size;
demultiplexing: only frames from a scene of interest have been selected.
