AFCE Certification Exam Terms and Conditions

Introduction

The exam is offered by Amped Software ("Company") through an online certification exam platform ("Platform") that allows taking the Amped FIVE Certified Examiner certification exam (“Exam”). These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the Platform and participation in the Exam. By accessing or using the Platform and participating in the Exam, you agree to comply with these Terms.

1. Eligibility and Technical Requirements

1.1 Eligibility: You must meet the following eligibility requirements to participate in the Exam:

  1. Have an active Amped FIVE license: this means either an active (non-expired) Amped FIVE subscription license OR a perpetual license with an active (non-expired) Software Maintenance and Support (SMS).
  2. Be registered to the Amped Support Portal (https://support.ampedsoftware.com) with your current institutional email.
  3. Have attended an official Amped FIVE training course in the last three years, or have completed the standard Amped FIVE training in the past and any additional Modules and Additions courses in the last three years. Amped Authenticate or Investigating Video Evidence courses are not valid prerequisites for this exam.
  4. Have at least 3 months of work experience using Amped FIVE.
  5. Not having failed the second attempt of the certification exam within the last three months.

The Company reserves the right to verify your eligibility at any time, and failure to meet the eligibility criteria may result in disqualification from the Exam.

1.2 Technical Requirements: In order to take the exam, you need to connect via the internet to the Platform. During the exam, you will need to download samples from the Platform and process them using Amped FIVE, for which we recommend the use of a single Windows computer with Amped FIVE installed in it. If preferred, you can also run FIVE from a second offline computer, but you will need to be able to transfer samples from one computer to the other. We recommend a computer with an Intel Core i5 CPU or better with 8GB RAM or more. There are no GPU requirements.

2. Exam Content

2.1 Covered Topics: The exam covers the main principles of image and video generation and processing, forensic video analysis, as well as Amped FIVE features and recommended workflows.

2.2 Structure: The exam consists of a theoretical part and a practical part. All questions have close-ended answers, and there is only one correct answer for each question. The scoring system is discussed in Section 4.1.

2.3 Non-Disclosure: All content, questions, materials, and information provided through the Exam, including but not limited to theoretical questions and practical exercises, are the intellectual property of the Company and are protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You agree not to copy, reproduce, distribute, or disclose any part of the Exam content to any third party.

2.4 No Cheating or Unauthorized Assistance: You agree not to engage in any form of cheating or use unauthorized assistance while taking the Exam. This includes, but is not limited to, using external resources, communicating with others during the Exam, or accessing the internet or other materials not expressly permitted by the Company.

2.5 Confidentiality: You acknowledge that the Exam questions and content are confidential and proprietary information of the Company. You agree not to copy, or take a photo, or a screenshot, or to share, or to disclose any Exam questions, answers, or content with others, including, but not limited to, posting such information on social media, forums, or other public platforms.

3. Prohibited Conduct

3.1 Misconduct: Any form of misconduct, including but not limited to plagiarism, cheating, or impersonation, will result in immediate disqualification from the Exam, and appropriate actions will be taken as deemed necessary by the Company.

3.2 Technical Violations: You are responsible for ensuring that your use of the Platform and any related technology for the sole purpose of taking the exam, according to the instructions provided within the Platform. Any attempt to manipulate or disrupt the Platform or the Exam process is strictly prohibited.

4. Results and Certification

4.1 Scoring: The Company will evaluate your performance in the Exam based on the criteria defined below, and your results will be final.

  • Each correct answer in the theoretical section counts as 1 (one) point.
  • Each correct answer in the practical section counts as 4 (four) points.
  • Each incorrect or not given answer counts as 0 (zero) points.
  • The maximum achievable score is 48 points. The threshold to pass the exam is 32 points, corresponding to 67% of the total score.

4.2 Certificates: Upon successful completion of the Exam, you will receive a certification from the Company, subject to your compliance with these Terms.

5. Certification Duration and Scope

The certification is valid for 2 (two) years from the date of issue. The expiration date is written on the certificate.

The certification proves that you passed the Amped FIVE Certified Examiner exam. It does not entitle you to deliver training or any other service on behalf of the Company.

6. Privacy

Your personal information and data collected during the registration and participation in the Exam will be handled in accordance with the Company's and Platform's Privacy Policies.

7. Termination

The Company reserves the right to terminate your access to the Platform or disqualify you from the Exam at its sole discretion if it determines that you have violated these Terms or engaged in any misconduct.

8. Changes to Terms

The Company may modify these Terms at any time, and such modifications will be effective upon posting on the Platform. Your continued use of the Platform and participation in the Exam after any such modifications constitute your acceptance of the updated Terms.

By accessing the Platform and participating in the Exam, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and agree to comply with all applicable laws and regulations. Failure to comply with these Terms may result in legal action and the revocation of your certification.
