About the exam
The exam is currently available only in English.
The exam consists of a theoretical part and a practical part. All questions have close-ended answers, and there is only one correct answer for each question. Although the number of theoretical questions is larger (24) than that of the practical exercises (6), the relative weighting of the two parts is equal since each theoretical question is worth 1 point, while each practical exercise is worth 4 points.
The exam covers the main principles of image and video generation and processing, forensic video analysis, as well as Amped FIVE features and recommended workflows.
If you fail your first exam attempt, you will receive an email from us with useful information on how to find content and resources that will help you pass your next attempt, which has to be taken no later than 6 months after the first attempt. If you fail the second attempt, you will have to purchase a new seat and wait three additional months before being eligible to retake the exam.
During the exam, you will need to download samples from the internet and import them into Amped FIVE, for which we recommend the use of a single Windows computer. If preferred, you can also run Amped FIVE from a second offline computer, but you will need to be able to transfer samples from one computer to the other using an internal network or transfer media such as USB memory, etc.
We recommend a computer with an Intel Core i5 CPU or better with 8GB RAM or more. There are no GPU requirements.
We recommend the latest version of Amped FIVE before taking the exam. You can check for updates by clicking on Help -> Check for updates online, or checking the Amped FIVE Updates category on our blog.

The certificate lasts for two years, and the expiration date will be printed on your certificate.
The certification proves that you passed the Amped FIVE Certified Examiner exam. It does not entitle you to deliver training or any other service on behalf of the Company. In addition, it is important to understand that Amped FIVE Certification does not equate to tangible expertise in forensic video processing and analysis nor does it mean that you are less likely to be scrutinized if your work does not meet the required standards and ethics. It will, however, serve to demonstrate that you have passed an examination designed to test your ability to use the software, both from a theoretical and practical point of view.
You can renew your certificate by purchasing a certification seat and retaking the exam. If you do so within two years from the expiration date, you will only need to ensure you still have an active Amped FIVE license and SMS plan. After two years from the expiration date, you will need to re-apply for certification and meet all requirements that apply to new candidates.
The certificate contains a QR code. Online examination records are publicly available when the QR code is scanned.
The Amped FIVE training attendance certificate states that a user has attended an official Amped FIVE training session. Conversely, the AFCE certificate certifies the user's ability to use the software from a theoretical and practical point of view.
